THE FACTS
Your clients' solar surplus is sold well below its value
On a company roof, a good share of the production goes to the grid: at weekends, at midday, in summer. That surplus is bought back by the supplier at market price, at the very moment everyone is producing. In 2025, an injected solar kWh in Belgium was worth on average 32 to 42 €/MWh on the market, before supplier fees.
That price stretches the payback period and pushes installers to undersize systems. In an energy community, the same kWh is sold to a nearby business, which pays less than with its supplier. Both sides win.

Gross prices paid to the producer for shared energy, before RaYSun management fees (5 to 8 €/MWh). The unshared part is still sold back to the supplier.
