For a Walloon industrial site under a carbon agreement, consuming electricity from an energy community counts towards the agreement's targets. Part of the targets is met without investment, and shared volumes benefit from the green-energy contribution exemption. RaYSun offers partnerships born from the SPW's CE4I project, with a study on your real profiles and quantified gains.

CE4I (Collective Energy for Industry) is a project of the Walloon Public Service (SPW) on energy exchanges between industrial sites on the same site or business park. With its partner Resolia, RaYSun analysed the potential for electricity exchanges between the industrial sites of Antoing, on their real consumption and production profiles, and contributed strongly to the resulting methodological tool.
Between the five members studied, more than 6,000 MWh a year can be shared, i.e. 27.4% local renewable energy and more than €167,000 in overall annual gain. With the rooftop solar potential, that rate rises to 34.1%.
A tool to assess, as a first approach, the potential for energy exchanges on an industrial site or business park, integrated into the framework of AMUREBA audits and studies.
From this experience, RaYSun has built a structured offer for any Walloon industrial site wishing to join an energy community: the subject of this page.

One contact, from identifying local partners to monthly monitoring of exchanges. Here is what we take care of.
Locating consumer and producer sites identified locally: same business park, same municipality, same substation. These are your potential sharing partners.
Quarter-hourly simulation of possible exchanges between the sites, from real load and production curves. You get the shareable volumes, the share of your needs covered and the financial benefits of the model, calculated and quantified, for each site.
Join an existing sharing operation, such as Energilia Wallonie: one contract to sign, the lightest route administratively. Group together with neighbouring industrial sites to create your own dedicated operation within WalloWatt, the Walloon energy community. Or create your own energy community, with its own sharing operation, for a site or group that wants to keep control of the structure: RaYSun supports its creation (articles, accreditation, agreements) and can manage it. The study compares the three options on your figures.
The volumes you consume from the community count towards the targets recorded in your carbon agreement. Taking part as a consumer therefore meets part of those targets, without investment on your side. The RaYSun offer includes aligning the operation with your agreement, then monitoring and validating the green-energy contribution exemption on those volumes.
Agreements, allocation key, file with the regulator (CWaPE) and the grid operator (ORES or RESA), enrolment of members, activation of the sharing on the meters.
RaYSun monitors shared volumes month after month, liaises with the carbon agreement auditor and validates with the SPW that all volumes consumed from the community are taken into account in your targets, and therefore in the green-energy contribution exemption shown on your bills. Each site follows its exchanges on the My Community platform.
Going further:
If your site is under a carbon agreement, the energy community does more than lower your bill: it also works towards your targets.
The electricity you consume from the community is counted towards your carbon agreement targets. Where an energy-efficiency measure requires an investment, taking part in an energy community as a consumer meets part of your targets without investment, with a shared-energy rate below your contract.
Monitoring and validating the exemption are part of the offer. RaYSun liaises with the agreement auditor and validates with the SPW: the volumes you consume from the community are counted towards your targets, and therefore indirectly generate the full or partial exemption from the green-energy contribution on the shared volume, shown on your bills. The sharing gain adds to the agreement's gain, it does not replace it.
No. A consumer-only site can join a sharing operation and buy local electricity at a contractually fixed rate. A producing site sells its surplus there better than at the injection tariff. Both profiles are sought after.
No. You keep your supply contract and your connection. Shared energy is deducted, the supplier covers the rest. No works, no waiting for a connection.
The current Walloon framework does not yet allow sharing between a point connected to the distribution grid and one connected to the transmission grid. The CE4I study identified this as the main regulatory obstacle. We check it from step 1 and tell you what is possible with your configuration.
Allow about 4 months in the first two cases, joining Energilia Wallonie or creating a dedicated operation between neighbours: this lead time is set by the CWaPE and grid operator legal procedures. The difference lies elsewhere: joining Energilia is much lighter administratively than setting up your own operation. Creating your own energy community, with its own sharing operation, takes longer: currently allow 8 to 10 months.
Send us the site address, your annual consumption and, if you have one, your carbon agreement. A RaYSun expert gets back to you within 48 h to scope a first study and give you a quote.
